Stopping work completely isn't something I find easy to do these days - taking a couple of months off full time consulting seems to have resulted in more work rather than less - but the last couple of days I have been taking some time away from the details of GDNote and relaxing a bit - a nice beach resort and a couple of beers helps a lot.

Focusing on the details of one project is always easy and can mean neglecting other projects - in my case there's about five other projects that need my attention. Sometimes you need to stop and focus on whatever you aren't focusing on. A couple of days with no immediate tasks and I have a pretty good idea of everything that needs to happen.

The next week is going to be pretty busy with finishing two projects and catching up on several others, but I'm ready for it.

The relaxation also makes me more creative and I have two great new ideas I'd like to put some work into - at least three more than I have time for, but that's something I'm getting used to dealing with.
